Carbon Black Cloud: What to Do if User Account Without ROLE Cannot Be Removed in the Console

Issue/Introduction

User Account without ROLE cannot be removed in the Carbon Black Cloud Console.

Environment

• Carbon Black Cloud: All backend versions

Cause

A User account without ROLE will not be allowed to remove due to the lack of proper backend logic.

Resolution

1. Assign a ROLE to this User account first, for example "View All";
2. Make sure the current log on as "System Admin", "Super Admin", "Live Response Admin - Legacy" or "Admin - Legacy", and confirm it is higher than the ROLE of User account to be removed;
3. Once ROLE is assigned to the User account, click on "X" (Delete) button to remove it.
