Issue/Introduction

Why do Devices from a Disconnected Agent persist in the CB Protection Console?

Environment

  • CB Protection Server: All Supported Versions
  • CB Protection Agent: All Supported Versions

Resolution

The Devices on Computers tab in the CB Protection Console under Assets > Devices lists all unique attachments, which are defined as pairings of one computer and one device. CB Protection will maintain this list based on what devices are or are not connected to a computer.

If the CB Protection Agent is disconnected before the device is disconnected, CB Protection never observed the device disconnect. Therefore, this unique pairing remains in the CB Protection Console until the CB Protection Agent connects with the device disconnected.

Additional Information

For more detail on the Devices on Computers tab, as well as how to utilize this list, see Page 374 of the CB Protection User Guide under Related Content.

To request changes to how CB Protection handles this list of device and computer pairings, a Feature Request can be submitted to the Product Management team at the Idea Central link under Related Content.
