EDR: Server upgrade hangs at Reindexing Solr Cores during upgrade proxy settings configured for EDR server

Issue/Introduction

• During EDR server upgrade, upgrade hangs at reindexing Solr cores and will not complete
• EDR server has proxy settings configured

Environment

• EDR: (Formerly CB Response) 6.x server and higher
• Linux OS: All supported versions

Cause

Yum update not allowed through proxy server

Resolution

Restore EDR server to the previous working version from backup
Disable proxy and retry the upgrade, reenable proxy upon successful upgrade completion 

Additional Information

• This is an issue we have seen in several instances
• Reindexing Solar cores hangs and will not complete
