App Control: Agent Install Failure Due To Unresolved libicu Dependency

Issue/Introduction

The b9install.log shows the following errors (Bit9 Build number may vary): 
Error: Package: b9agent-7.4.6-80.el7.x86_64 (/b9agentRedhat7)
Requires: libicudata.so.50()(64bit)
Error: Package: b9agent-7.4.6-80.el7.x86_64 (/b9agentRedhat7)
Requires: libicuuc.so.50()(64bit)
Error: Package: b9agent-7.4.6-80.el7.x86_64 (/b9agentRedhat7)
Requires: libicui18n.so.50()(64bit)

Environment

  • App Control Linux Agent: 7.4.6

Cause

  • The libicu package is not installed on the endpoint.
  • The install has libicu dependency and it’s unable to resolve the symbolic link.

Resolution

  • Install the libicu package on the endpoint.
  • If libicu is already installed, run the following command prior to installing the App Control agent:  
    sudo ln –s /usr/lib64/libicudata.so.42 /usr/lib64/libicudata.so
