User Exchange: How To Add A User To The Company Group

How to invite new users to a private Company Group to view and open Technical Support cases.


  • User Exchange: All Versions
  • Active User with Group Admin rights


  1. Log into the Carbon Black UEX with a Group Admin account.
  2. Navigate to the Company Group's home page (Company Group > Company Group).
  3. Click the View All button under the list of members:

  1. Click Invite Members 
  2. Enter the user's User Exchange id into the "Send To" field
  3. Click Send Invitation.

Additional Information

  • Note: Make sure to use the user ID and not the user's email when inviting them
  • The new user will receive an email invitation to join the group.
  • The new user needs to validate their email in order to be added to the group.
  • If the user is not validated they will see the error "You do not have sufficient permissions for this resource or its parent to perform this action".
  • PLEASE NOTE: there is a bug currently where the system cannot return two-character usernames in order to invite them.  If you need to invite a team member that has a 2-character username, please email us and we'll take care of it.
