No, the robots.txt file on the web server is not required for EDR Server functionality.

Additional Information

Opening the robots.txt file will show the following:

User-agent: *
Disallow: /

This tells search engines not to scan any of the directories on the server. The file gives no info as to the layout of any folders on the server, or any other info that would be cause for a security concern.
