Uninstalled Agent Still Appears in Add/Remove Program

• Carbon Black App Control (formerly Cb Protection)

Issue/Introduction

• Agent has been uninstalled
• C:\Program Files (x86)\Bit9 folder no longer exists
• Carbon Black App Control Agent still appears under Add/Remove Program or Programs and Features

Environment

• App Control Agent: All Supported Versions
• Microsoft Windows: All Supported Versions 

Cause

Under some circumstances an uninstall may not remove the registry key correctly

Resolution

1. Go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\ in Regedit
2. Search for GUID that is applicable to your Agent version 
3. Delete the corresponding key HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\{App Control GUID}
4. Check to confirm if App Control still shows up in Windows Add/Remove Program
