CB Defense: Mac Sensor Not Checking In and May Cause Poor Application Performance

Issue/Introduction

  • Delays in reporting events to the PSC Console
  • Some sluggish application performance may also occur
  • The issue impacts a seemingly random subset of Sensors 
  • The confer.log file will not include "WorkForCloud" entries while event reporting is delayed

Environment

  • CB Defense PSC Console: All versions
  • CB Defense PSC Sensor: 3.3.1.12 through 3.3.3.35
  • Apple macOS: All supported versions

Cause

This is a known issue with the 3.3.1.12 through 3.3.3.35 Sensor.

Resolution

This issue is resolved with the 3.3.4.6 Sensor release; please upgrade to this version or higher to resolve the issue.

Additional Information

  • The 3.3.4.6 Sensor will be Generally Available (GA) by the end of business on November 25, 2019.
  • Navigate within the PSC Console to Endpoints > Sensor Options > Download Sensor Kits to access the latest Sensor installers.
  • The 3.3.4.6 Sensor also provide full compatibility with macOS Catalina (10.15.x)
