App Control: Rules Installer Fails To Install On New Server Build

Issue/Introduction

Rules installer fails to install with following shown in the installer log:

**WARNING** Make sure that you are running the installer as the configured service account (if applicable).

Log file is being generated in C:\Users\"username"\AppData\Local\Temp\RulesInstaller-*.log

Install Location is C:\Program Files (x86)\Bit9
Server Version is
Server Version Full is

Could not detect existing build version number for validation. Aborting!

ERROR: (FAILURE) Rules Installer could not validate Pre-Installation checks. Aborting!

Environment

• App Control Server: 8.6 and Higher

Cause

Registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Bit9\Parity Server\ProductVersion" is missing.

Resolution

Uninstall and reinstall App Control Server
