Issue/Introduction

Is the App Control Server Supported in AWS (Amazon Web Services) , GCP (Google Cloud Platform), and Microsoft Azure?

Environment

  • App Control Server: All Supported Versions
  • Microsoft Windows Server: All Supported Versions
  • Microsoft SQL Server: All Supported Versions
  • Amazon Web Services
  • Google Cloud Platform
  • Microsoft Azure

Resolution

Yes. App Control can be installed in all three of these platforms.

  • Specific SKU's are required to meet the required disk throughput.
    • More details can be found within techdocs under Carbon Black App Control Server > Server OER > App Control Server Architecture by Endpoint Count
  • The disk throughput should confirmed by using CbPTest
    • The required throughput is specified within techdocs under Carbon Black App Control Server > SQL Server Configuration Guide > Validating Storage Performance > Using the CBPTest Tool - Disk Performance Testing Tool
  • Using a SQL Platform as a Service (PaaS) is currently not supported.

Additional Information

The Server OER and SQL Server Configuration Guides should be reviewed in their entirety prior to installation and deployment. These items are located within Tech Docs under "Carbon Black App Control Server".
