Issue/Introduction
Is the App Control Server Supported in AWS (Amazon Web Services) , GCP (Google Cloud Platform), and Microsoft Azure?
Environment
- App Control Server: All Supported Versions
- Microsoft Windows Server: All Supported Versions
- Microsoft SQL Server: All Supported Versions
- Amazon Web Services
- Google Cloud Platform
- Microsoft Azure
Resolution
Yes, the App Control Server can be installed in a cloud environment. Some considerations for this type of deployment would include:
- Specific SKU's from the cloud provider would be required to meet the disk throughput
- Review: TechDocs > Server OER > App Control Server Architecture by Endpoint Count
- Disk Throughput (and all other OER requirements) should be confirmed with the cloud provider before implementation.
- Existing installations would follow the migration process.
- Using a SQL Platform as a Service (PaaS) is currently not supported.
Additional Information
- The Server OER and SQL Server Configuration Guides should be reviewed in their entirety prior to installation and deployment.
- These items are located within Tech Docs under "Carbon Black App Control Server".
