App Control: Rules and Agent Installer Fails Due to Product Version

Issue/Introduction

Can not install Rules or Agent version after Server upgrade.
Installer Logs:

Error: App Control Server version of 8.X is NOT valid for installing.
Error: Please update your server to at least version 8.1.4.70

 

Environment

• App Control Server: All Supported Versions
• Microsoft Windows: All Supported Versions

Cause

The server version in the registry is different than the actual version

Resolution

1. Confirm what it is the Server version installed in console
2. Confirm and manually change the following registry key values

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Bit9\Parity Server\ProductVersion
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Bit9\Parity Server\ProductVersionFull
