Shrinking the DAS database Transaction Log

Issue/Introduction

How to shrink the DAS Transaction Log file to free transaction space. 

Environment

• App Control Server: All Supported Versions
• Microsoft SQL Server: All Supported Versions

Resolution

1. Take a full backup of the DAS database including the log
2. Stop the App Control Server and Reporter services.
3. In SQL Management Studio right click the DAS database and navigate to Tasks > Shrink > Files
   • Change the File Type to "Log".
   • Verify the File Name is set to "das_log".
   • Verify the action is set to "Release unused space"
   • Click OK 
4. Once the shrink completes, start the App Control Server, and Reporter services.
