Bind a New Certificate to Parity Web Console in IIS

Issue/Introduction

Steps to bind a new certificate to Port 443 in IIS, for the use with the Console.

Environment

  • App Control Server: All Supported Versions
  • Microsoft Windows Server: All Supported Versions

Resolution

  1. Log in to the application server hosting the Console as the Carbon Black Service Account.
  2. Go to: Start > Run > inetmgr > click OK to launch IIS Manager.
  3. From the Navigation Tree on the left-hand side select the SERVERNAME.
  4. From the section, IIS choose Server Certificates.
  5. If the previous certificate is no longer needed it can be deleted now.
  6. From the right-hand side > Actions > Import...
  7. Browse to the location of the pfx file, provide the password for the certificate and import it to the Personal Certificate Store.
  8. From the Navigation Tree on the left-hand side expand SERVER NAME > Sites > right click Parity Console Web > Edit Bindings...
  9. Select https > Edit > SSL certificate > select the relevant certificate.
  10. Click OK > Close.
  11. From the right-hand side > Manage Website > Restart.
  12. Restart the App Control Server and Reporter services.

Note: Depending on your browser settings you may need to close previously logged in tabs or clear the cache.
