App Control: How to Update the Host Package Certificate

Issue/Introduction

To update the Host Package Certificate which will allow the download and installation of 8.1.8 agents on prior server versions.

Environment

• App Control Server: 8.1.8 and Lower

Resolution

8.1.4:

1. Download the certificate installer:
   • https://community.carbonblack.com/t5/Documentation-Downloads/CB-Protection-Certificate-Installer/ta-p/88954
2. Login to the App Control Server as the App Control Service account.
3. Open an Admin CMD prompt
4. Navigate to and execute the CertificateInstaller_2020_5

8.1.5 - 8.1.6:

1. Download the Certificate installer:
   • https://community.carbonblack.com/t5/Documentation-Downloads/CB-Protection-Certificate-Installer/ta-p/88954
2. Navigate to Administration (Gear Icon) > Update Agent / Rule Versions
3. Click and drag, or upload the certificate installer
