Carbon Black Cloud: Sensor Update Fails On Devices in Bypass Mode

Issue/Introduction

• Upgrade attempted via Console on device(s) in Bypass mode
• Sensor Update Status job appears stuck in "Processing" status
• Manual upgrade (not using Console) is successful

Environment

• Carbon Black Cloud Console: All Versions
• Carbon Black Cloud Sensor: 3.7.x - 3.8.0.627

Cause

Known issue being tracked under EA-20963 / DSEN-18733

Resolution

1. Bring Sensor out of Bypass mode
2. Re-try upgrade attempt

Additional Information

• This is fixed in version 3.8.0.684 (MR3) and higher. Sensors upgrading from this version will no longer have this issue.
