App Control: Agent Upgrade Error "Another installation is already in progress"

Issue/Introduction

• Agents failing to upgrade
• Upgrade error "nother installation is already in progress. Complete that installation before proceeding with this install" shown in "upgrade status" column

Environment

• App Control Console: All Versions
• App Control Agent: All Versions

Cause

• Msiexec is busy performing an installation of another software
• Msiexec can only perform one installation at a time

Resolution

The agent will automatically retry the upgrade and proceed once msiexec is available. If msiexec is hung on the box, a reboot may be required.
