What is the "Appliance"?

Resolution

  • The appliance is a package of software that lives on the vSphere side. It is a virtual machine that uses Photon OS and an application to route data from vSphere to the Carbon Black Cloud. 
  • It collects the inventory from VC and shows any endpoints without the sensor under the Inventory > Workloads > Not Enabled tab.
  • The appliance helps to drive the installation workflow on sensors that do not currently have it.
