Is it possible to create a custom .msi installer that contains the .exe and .ini files?

Environment

• Carbon Black EDR Server: 6.x and Higher
• Carbon Black EDR Sensor: All Supported Versions
• Microsoft Windows OS: All Supported Versions

Resolution

No, Carbon Black EDR does not provide a single .MSI file with the configuration file (.ini) and sensor group certificate already bundled inside. A single ZIP file is provided that contains the MSI, EXE, and ini file.

Additional Information

• Some 3rd party tools may be available to merge the INI and MSI files. 
• The MSI files provided by CB Response are not dynamically generated, which is why they require the external INI file to specify sensor group and other settings.  
• A feature request for this functionality is being tracked in Idea Central.
