How to Download a New Sensor Version to the Console. 

Environment

  • Carbon Black EDR Server: All Versions
  • Carbon Black EDR Sensor: All Versions
  • Microsoft Windows: All Supported Versions
  • Linux: All Supported Versions
  • macOS: All Supported Versions. 

Resolution

  1. Create an authentication token and download the package. Authenticate to Packages Repository
  2. Run the generate_cbsensor_<os>_repo.sh per the instructions to setup the version specific repo.
  3. How To Add a Sensor Version to the Console for Downloading Install Packages
  4. Validate the new sensor version is available in the console. 
    1. Log into the console.
    2. Navigate to the sensors page. 
    3. Edit a sensor group.
    4. Expand the "Upgrade Policy" tab. 
    5. Use the drop down per OS to verify the new version is listed. 

Additional Information

  • Release notes can be found in the sensor Tech Docs page. 
  • Restart the server services if the package is not visible in the console after running the "cbcheck sensor-builds --update" command. 
  • These RPM packages cannot be used to install a sensor directly on an endpoint. Download a sensor package per sensor group through the console.
