Endpoint Standard: Access to Folder / Filename Was Denied

Issue/Introduction

The following errors are observed:

You don’t currently have permission to access this folder. 

Access to <path & filename> was denied.

Environment

• Endpoint Standard Web Console: November '20 Release (0.60) and Higher
• Carbon Black Cloud Windows Sensor: 3.6 and Higher

Cause

This can happen when trying to browse folders or execute files from an unapproved device in Endpoint Standard when Device Control blocking has been enabled.

Resolution

1. Make a note of the make / model of the relevant removable USB device
2. Contact your Endpoint Standard administrator and request that they approve the device in the Console
