Issue/Introduction

With the release of the 3.5.3.x Sensor, will older versions of macOS like High Sierra (10.13) or Sierra (10.12) continue to be supported?

Environment

  • Carbon Black Cloud Sensor: 3.5.3.x and Higher
  • Apple macOS: 10.13.x and Lower

Resolution

No. Support for macOS 10.13 and earlier is ending with the release of the 3.5.3.x Sensor.

Additional Information

  • Installation of the 3.5.3.x or higher Sensor will not fail or be blocked, but systems running this Sensor on any macOS version prior to 10.14 will be in an unsupported state and will either need to
    • Upgrade the operating system to macOS 10.14 (Mojave) or higher
      OR
    • Downgrade the Sensor to 3.5.2.x or earlier to enter a supported state in order to submit Technical Support cases
  • System Extension mode installation is not available for macOS 10.13 or earlier, only Kernel Extension mode installation can be performed
