Carbon Black Cloud: Is Linux sensor 2.10.1 Supported for Endpoint Standard?

Issue/Introduction

Is installing Linux sensor 2.10.1 on a RHEL 8.0 plus OS supported for Endpoint Standard (formerly CB Defense)?

Environment

• Carbon Black Cloud: All supported versions
• Endpoint Standard (formerly CB Defense)
• Linux Sensor 2.10.1
• RHEL 8.x and higher
• CentOS 8.x and higher
• Oracle 8.x and higher

 

Resolution

Not currently, Endpoint standard (formerly CB Defense) is not included in Linux sensor 2.10.1 support for Linux 8.0 plus distributions.  Only Enterprise EDR stand alone is supported at this time.

Additional Information

• The sensor may install in an Endpoint Standard environment but will not function
• There may be errors noted in the sensor install log 
• There are instances where the sensor installs but it installs in bypass mode
