Issue/Introduction

Create a  role with a customized permission set

Environment

• Carbon Black Cloud Console: March '19 Release and later (0.45)

Resolution

1. Navigate to Settings > Roles in the CBC Console
2. Click on the Add Role button in the upper right
3. Fill in the name and description fields as desired
4. To build upon permissions applied to another role, select the preferred Initial Permission Level
5. Expand permission types and select or deselect permissions
6. Click Save

Additional Information

• Users will only be able to assign permissions to a role that is assigned to their own role
• Users must have the Manage Users and Manage Roles permissions assigned to their role to be able to perform the above actions
