You will likely want to use labels in your GCP perspectives for categorization.
Labels in GCP are the equivalent of "tags" for other cloud providers. GCP tags are intended to enable a user to configure network settings and are not intended to categorize your infrastructure.
Below detail the process to create a perspective using either tags or labels:
Building Perspective Groups using Labels:
In most cases, you will want to build Perspective groups using Labels. If you wish to build a Perspective to use Labels across the platform, follow the below instructions:

- Choose an Asset Type = BigQuery Billing Line Items
- Choose a Discovery Method = Categorize

Choose a Field to Categorize By = tag + term name
