Issue/Introduction

Indirect Enrollment Accounts (EA Accounts managed by a third-party partner) are supported in Tanzu CloudHealth. Follow the steps below to verify whether your EA is indirect and configure it accordingly.

Resolution

Verifying Indirect EA:

  1. Log in to the Azure portal.

  2. Navigate to the "Cost Management + Billing" service.

  3. Select the billing scope as your Enrollment ID.

  4. Go to Properties and check the Enrollment Type and the Partner Name (Refer to the screenshot below).

Configuring Indirect EA:

To configure the Indirect Enrollment, follow the same steps as for the Direct EA account to configure the Enrollment Reader role by referring to the official documentation here: https://techdocs.broadcom.com/us/en/vmware-tanzu/cloudhealth/tanzu-cloudhealth/saas/tnz-cloudhealth/getting-started-with-tanzu-cloudhealth-azure-quick-start.html#configuring-an-enterprise-agreement-azure-account

Once the EA is configured, contact your partner (who manages the EA account) to enable the "AO and DA view charges" option under Azure Cost Management settings.  Refer to the Microsoft KB to enable these options: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/cost-management-billing/costs/assign-access-acm-data
