Total Cost MTD calculation within an AWS Asset report

Issue/Introduction

Total Cost MTD (Month-to-Date) in an AWS Asset report is calculated by adding up the costs of all AWS resources associated with the account for the current month up to the current date.

Resolution

It includes costs for usage, reserved instances, and upfront fees, among others.  The calculation includes any discounts or credits applied to the account.  The projected cost is the cost that is projected for the remainder of the period, depending on the calendar date.
