The EC2 Instance Hours report can be confusing and not provide the best visibility into the information available. Below is a layout for the report that will arrange various cost data in a logical way that will make sense as to how the Total Cost is calculated. The first step is to navigate to the EC2 Instance Hours Report via REPORTS>USAGE>EC2 INSTANCE HOURS and click on the "Edit Columns" button at the top of the page. From here,

Be sure to keep the fields provided that were default for reference (Account Name, Instance Name, API Name, Zone Name, Spot Total Hours)
Once configured and updated, the report will now have all the cost columns lined up in a way where it is easy to discern where and how the total cost is calculated.
