Issue/Introduction

In order for currently active RIs to be included in a quote, they need to be fully expired as of the date the quote is set to run.  Below are two scenarios and their outcomes based on when the quote purchase date is configured to:

1) You have RIs that expire on March 30th and you set the purchase date to April 1st:  Since the RIs will be expired before the purchase data they will be included in the analysis.

  • The ‘Only recommend expiring reservations’ check box limits the results to instances that were potentially impacted by the reduced RI coverage due to the expired RIs.  Essentially, this is meant to only replace the coverage of previously existing RIs and not consider net new coverage.
  • If this is not checked, the quote will include instances that had RIs expire as well as new RI opportunities.

2) You have RIs that expire on March 30th and you set the purchase date to March 30th:  These will not be included in the analysis.  Only RIs that have expired before the purchase data are included.
