Issue/Introduction

There are prerequisites that need to be satisfied for credits to be available as well as other details regarding how CloudHealth pulls together available credits.  See below:

Resolution

  1. The platform will only make a credit available to be assigned if you have assigned the AWS Account that was given the credit to a customer going through partner billing.
  2. The platform will roll up credits based on the Consolidated Account the credit was given to.  For example, if you had $50 in credit given to one linked account and another $50 of credit given to a different linked account in the same family, there would be one $100 line item available to be assigned.
  3. The platform does not roll up credits by Product Name (despite that column being displayed on the Assign Credits menu).  If you were given $50 for RDS and $50 for EC2, you will have one line item for $100.  Whichever line item we roll up last will be the Product Name that is assumed.
  4. In order for a credit to be available a request needs to be submitted for our development team to “Whitelist” it.  This whitelist is built into the platform code and is shared across all customers.  If a customer has already submitted a request to whitelist a credit with the same ItemDescription, it is not necessary to submit a new request.
