AWS GovCloud (US) is an isolated AWS Region designed to allow US Government agencies and customers to move sensitive workloads into the cloud by addressing their specific regulatory and compliance requirements.
GovCloud accounts must be associated with either a consolidated or standalone account. Once associated with one of these accounts, all billing and usage is reported as though it originated from the GovCloud account.

These steps enable the GovCloud activity to be reported within your consolidated billing records with a distinct account. Otherwise, activity is reported with the Account ID of the consolidated bill.
