Issue/Introduction

Azure data can be removed by deleting any Enrollment or Service Principal. You can also retain historical data and instead stop the flow of new data by retaining the Enrollment or Service Principal but invalidating the shared secret used to connect Azure to CloudHealth.

Resolution

After deleting any Azure infrastructure, it takes an overnight processing cycle for the data to become no longer visible in CloudHealth. If you wish to instead retain the historical data across Cost & Usage and Assets please instead follow these steps:

  1. Open Azure Portal -> Entra ID -> App registrations -> Select the App registration associated with the CloudHealth Service Principal.
  2. Under Manage -> Select Certificates and Secrets
  3. Select the delete option next to the secret configured see - 



  4. Following the removal of the secret the CloudHealth platform will no longer be able to collect Cost & Usage data, or Asset metadata from Azure, but existing historical data will be retained within the platform prior to the point the secret was invalidated.
