Issue/Introduction

Amortization is a critical component of cloud cost allocation so the platform includes two measures to the Y-axis of our Kubernetes Cost History Report that enable you to easily view and allocate your effective costs:

Resolution

AWS Kubernetes Cost History Report: Amortized Cost = Upfront cost normalized monthly

• Amortized Cost Allocation by Requests
• Amortized Cost Allocation by Usage

Azure Kubernetes Cost History Report: Effective Cost = Upfront cost normalized monthly + OnDemand cost

• Effective Cost Allocation by Requests
• Effective Cost Allocation by Usage

With these measures, Kubernetes costs can be amortized like all other costs in your environment.
