Issue/Introduction

How to configure aggregate metrics and alarms for a multi-core server in rsp

Environment

UIM 20.x, 23.x

Cause

By default, rsp triggers alarms for every single CPU

Resolution

Follow these steps:

- Open the rsp configuration in IM

- Click on  Advanced Configuration Mode

- Open Config format-->Templates -->CPU

- Create a new template or edit the default to add your thresholds

- Open Config format-->Groups--> [Unix or Windows]-->CPU

-  Make sure you have these entries

      CPU identifier=-1

      Template= <your new template or default>

      Template for instances found = <empty>

- Restart the probe

After this change, you should start getting alarms as an aggregate of all CPUs.
