Managing the Auto Protect and Network Threat Protection features reloading / enablement timer in Endpoint Protection

Issue/Introduction

If you need to disable Symantec Endpoint Protection temporarily, but when you do, it gets automatically reloaded / re-enabled within 5 minutes and you need a way to increase the timer.  You want to modify this timer.

Environment

Resolution

To increase the timer for these features do the following: 

• For Auto-Protect, look under the Virus and Spyware Protection Policy under Protection Technology, click Auto-Protect, and then Advanced. There you will see a section called Auto-Protect Reloading and Enablement where this is controlled.
• For Network Threat Protection, look under Clients, and the Policies tab (on the right), and then scroll down to Location-specific Settings and then click on Tasks next to Client User Interface Control Settings for your specified Location. Next click Edit settings, and then From there click on assuming "Server control" is selected choose Customize and you'll see an option under Network Threat Protection called "Amount of time before re-enabling Network Threat Protection: ."
