Issue/Introduction

Trying to do a wildcarded LIST TYPE request but the job hangs part way thru with no indication of what might be wrong

  LIST TYPE * .  

 

If an explicit FROM ENVIRONMENT Environment name is specified, then the job completes successfully.

Any known issues with wildcarding the Environment in a CSV LIST TYPE request like this?

Resolution

There are no known issues in Endevor with wildcarding the Environment name in a CSV LIST TYPE request. 

 

Things to check / do:

• If using LSERV, check the LSERV log and the LSERV STC output for additional messages.  

• If using the default value of 16 for the STRNO parameter on the ADDPOOL, it could be too small.  The Endevor CSV job opens all the MCF's of all Environments at the start of the job. If the STRNO is insufficient, it is not possible, so the Endevor CSV job waits forever for a string to become available.   
  • Try increasing the STRNO to 255 for the ADDPOOL used for Endevor MCF files. 

• If not using LSERV, cancel the job with a DUMP and open a support case on the Broadcom support portal
