NetMaster Network Management for TCP/IP

Issue/Introduction

The latest maintenance was applied to our test LPARs, and includes PTFs for Netmaster Web Portal/Server.  Since then, CPU utilization for Netmaster on our Test and our Production LPAR has increased significantly.  We are looking to understand what is driving that increase.

Nothing in the log indicates a problem.

Environment

Netmaster for TCP/IP 12.2

Cause

LU12225 introduces a loop in the socket interface.

Resolution

Apply LU12249

Additional Information

LU12249 was published 3 days after LU12225.

To verify whether this is the cause, issue the following command from Command Entry (CMD) in Netmaster

SH PTF=NM0003ZB

If you see

sh ptf=nm0003zb
N14510 PTF LEVEL FOR MODULE NM0003ZB IS LU12225 VER: 0801 ADT: 2023/12/10-23.39

then applying LU12249 will correct the problem.

There is no circumvention.

NOTE: PTF LU12249 has since been set to PE (PTF in Error) status.
