Issue/Introduction

Randomly User  are logged out from OI web UI before the configured session expiration timeout (24h) ,for example sometime  within 30mins from the login (that is the default session expiration config), sometimes within 1h, but sometimes the session keeps correctly alive the whole night.

The configured session timeout for OI web UI for 24h in dxi-adminui deployment (pod), 
SESSIONEXPIRY_TIMEOUT_SECS:                86400

No specific pattern of the timeout identified also  it is not specific to any browser(ex chrome, MS edge)

 

 

Environment

DX APM23.3 on perm /platform , integrated via SAML to ADFS.

Resolution

It is advise to  the customer to enable auto-refresh on service analytic or alarm analytics screens or save dashboards with auto-refresh enabled and this should help them to avoid session expiry for 24 hrs. As of now, the solution does not support sessions to be maintained for longer than 24 hrs for security reasons and to be able to meet compliance standards.
