GEN 8.6 Filler variables in Cobol EAB

Issue/Introduction

While generating Cobol External Action blocks in GEN 8.6 , FILLER variables are created in working storage section

With GEN 8.0 release no filler variables are created .

What is the purpose of filler variables in GEN 8.6 release ?

Resolution

The changes are made in GEN 8.6r to make the generated code for External Action Blocks to be in line with Common Action Blocks and  in preparation for support of BLOB in COBOL generated code for a future release
