MCS Profiles stuck in pending state on DX UIM 23.4 / 23.4.1 (CU1)

Issue/Introduction

Newly deployed and updated profiles stay in Pending status and they are not delivered. 

This issue may appear after upgrading to DX UIM 23.4 or 23.4CU1 (23.4.1)

Error captured in the configuration_reader_service_probe.log

Profile: ###.. Robot:.. Status:OUT_OF_SYNC
Fetching data for profile ###
Error:, java.lang.NullPointerException

Also noted that the X:\Nimsoft\plugins\plugin_metric\plugin_metric.cfg is not updated on the target robot

Another symptom of this issue is visible running "metric_plugin_get_profile_policy_checksums" spooler callback. 

In the output some values for "plugin" shows as empty, as in the screenshot below:  

Environment

DX UIM 23.4 and DX UIM 23.4CU1 (23.4.1)

Cause

Known issue with DX UIM 23.4 and configuration_reader_service 23.4/23.4.1

Resolution

This issue is resolved in DX UIM 23.4.2 (CU2)

• If Running DX UIM 23.4 GA (Base Version) 

         Upgrade DX UIM 23.4 to DX UIM 23.4CU2 (23.4.2) 

         UIM Server 23.4 - Cumulative Update 2
         Operator Console 23.4 - Cumulative Update 2

• If Running DX UIM 23.4CU1 (23.4.1), upgrade to CU2 or alternatively install the configuration_reader_service 23.4.1T1 patch.  : 

  1. Download and import the attached configuration_reader_service 23.4.1T1 package to the UIM archive. 
      Download the package from UIM Server 23.4 - Cumulative Update 1.1 (Scroll down to CU1.1)
  2. Deploy configuration_reader_service 23.4.1T1 to all hubs
  

 

Note: configuration_reader_service 23.4.1T1 can be only deployed if DX UIM is 23.4.1 (CU1)

Alternatively, CRS-23.4.2 (CU2), MCS-23.4.2 can be deployed as well.
