Resource assignment finish date changing to an earlier date

Issue/Introduction

When updating the finish date of a resource assignment to a later date in the future, for a non-completed assignment, the assignment date is automatically adjusted to some earlier date.

This may be unique to some assignments, while other assignments for other resources with similar characteristics do not show this behavior.

Resolution

The resource had non-working days for the period included in the desired finish date. These non-working days could be resource calendar exceptions which only apply to that specific resource but not others, hence the difference observed.

For example, a resource has non-working days for the full week of May 27th, 2024, with the resource's next working day being Monday, June 3rd, 2024.

If the original assignment finish date is Tuesday, May 21st, 2024...

• ...and the desired finish date is Friday, May 24th, 2024, as it is a working day, this date will be respected.
• ...and the desired finish date is Friday, May 31st, 2024, as it is a non-working day, the latest working day prior to this date will be used (Friday, May 24th, 2024).
• ...and the desired finish date is Wednesday, June 5th, 2024, as it is a working day, this date will be respected.
