Scheduler Job Management uses the CA-XPS (Cross-Platform Scheduling Common Component) to track distributed jobs (such as those from Autosys) to Scheduler for submission on z/OS.
When Scheduler lost connection to Autosys, the following messages are seen in the CA XPS job log:
CAXPS927E (TKS) CCI ERROR FUNC=SEND RC=08 CC=00 TEXT=NO ERROR IN RC
CAXPS905E XPS SUB-TASK ENDED PREMATURELY: TRACKING SENDER (CAXPTKST) TCBCMP=000
CAXPS104I ALL CROSS-PLATFORM SCHEDULING SUB-TASKS TERMINATED
CAXPS105I CROSS-PLATFORM SCHEDULING ROUTER (XPS) HAS TERMINATED
CACX017E CA-XPS TASK ENDED UNEXPECTEDLY
CACX028E LOST CONTACT WITH NODE node_name
Scheduler Job Management release 11.0
Issue the following operating system console modify command to re-establish the connection:
XPLAT XPS=START
Recommendation: Set up automation to monitor for "CACX017E CA-XPS TASK ENDED UNEXPECTEDLY" and the action is to issue command XPLAT XPS=START.
XPLAT command is documented in the Scheduler Command Reference Guide.
