Unable to change the default gateway of SSP appliance

Issue/Introduction

When trying to change the IP address of default gateway the following error is observed:

localhost(config)# ip default-gateway <new gw>
Aborted: application protocol error
Error: failed to apply modifications

Resolution

To change the IP address of default gateway, please connect to SSP appliance using serial cable and access initial configuration menu .
