Default Software Contents Download Job ERROR - No MP found to process any of the message type

Issue/Introduction

Default Software Contents Download Job is in status ERROR

In C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\SC\CIC\logs\CIC.log there are these errors like this :

2024-04-03 09:07:09,141 WARN c.c.s.CCMain [CCMain] !!!!!!! Message type: pg_content_rule 8682a654-e852-4930-9399-2218b48f60d8 doesn't have a checkpoint, initial checkpoint info is used
2024-04-03 09:07:09,141 ERROR c.c.s.CCMain [CCMain] No MP found to process any of the message type 'pg_content_rule' known versions
2024-04-03 09:07:09,141 ERROR c.c.s.CCMain [CCMain] Following MDB patches required in order for the message type configured MP(s) to be used:  v:1 16891278

Cause

This error is caused by the following line present in file C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\SC\CIC\conf\config.xml

<SWCM><id>6EF2944D-DD53-468E-8FAF-98C19D88C2BF</id><licenseKey>SWCM-00000-00000-00001</licenseKey><MDBRole>swcmadmin</MDBRole></SWCM>

This line is for SwCM (Software Compliance Manager) and it is for another tool. So it is never used by Client Automation.

Resolution

Edit file C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\SC\CIC\conf\config.xml and remove the following section in section <applications>
