How to build a FALL-BACK TPX environment

Issue/Introduction

If the DEV LPAR is lost or down how can TPX on the PROD LPAR be accessed?

Resolution

For LPARs that do not share resources/DASD there are a couple of options listed below:

1) Set up the Prod LPAR as a mirror image of Dev LPAR like a DR system.

    or

2) Backup the TPX admin files from the Dev Lpar as frequently as possible, then ftp then over to the Prod Lpar and restore the TPX admin files on the Prod Lpar.

    Make sure the set up and configuration for the External Security Manager and the applications are the same on both Dev and Prod LPARS. 

 

For LPARs that do share resources/DASD there are a couple of options listed below:

1) Set up TPX in a SYSPLEX as Generic Resource. Please refer to the link below:
