Trying to find audit history for contact allocation relationship. According to existing documentation, one can audit Contact Allocation information. Need to know how to access the functionality.
Release 17.3 or higher
CA IT Asset Manager
To access the audit history for Contact Allocation for a given software asset:
- Access the given Software Asset, then choose "Contact Allocation"
- Click on the Edit icon for a given contact entry. The "View Audit History" link will appear, allowing you access to view the audit history for that particular contact record.
Some additional background behind the audit functionality for software assets and contact allocation:
A software license can be used by one or more users on one or more systems. The Contact Allocation relationship on Software license defines all the users with their allocation count. When it comes to Contact Allocation auditing, the changes on the Contact Allocation record is auditable and can be seen under Contact Allocation Audit History only and not under Asset Audits. Same holds for all other available relationships of Asset (like Company Allocation, Location Allocation, HW Asset Allocation etc.). The asset audit captures the inserts/updates/deletes of its primary/secondary attributes so one cannot establish a link between a software asset audit to its contact allocation audit as there can be multiple contact allocations on one SW asset.
From within the ITAM product itself, the audit feature of the Software asset Contact Allocation is done per contact record. It is not possible to modify the audit functionality on the ITAM product itself.
If more specific auditing is required, ie: entries per software asset entry, one can leverage content in the backend database table aud_arg_rel_cont_ent. This table contains the entire auditing record for the arg_rel_cont_ent table, which defines the Software asset Contact Allocation. There is a record created for each addition, change, or removal of a given contact on the Software asset.
One could create a custom report based on the table aud_arg_rel_cont_ent to suit specific requirements. However, this is not something that Support can assist to design or develop.
