Issue/Introduction

Network performance issues after upgrading to SEP RU6 on Linux using a Network File System (NFS)

A significant amount of NFSv2 FSSTAT API is seen when the SEP Linux Auto Protect or scheduled scan runs.

Environment

RHEL 7.9 and 8.9

SEP client 14.3 RU6

Cause

When a NFSv3 file share is used with a child filesystem of another exotic filesystem type, SEP Linux issues fsstat VFS function, a request to NFSv3 server (as per NFSv3 API spec).

Resolution

Update sdcss-kmod kernel module by upgrading to the latest version available on Seplpkg.
