SOI - Helpdesk connector - tomcat Version upgrade

Issue/Introduction

The SOI Helpdesk Connector has the following Tomcat versions

v 1.2.2 comes with Tomcat 9.0.73
v 1.2.3 comes with Tomcat 9.0.82

These Tomcat versions have vulnerabilities that should be addressed.  Can these be updated?

Cause

Tomcat needs to be updated to address vulnerabilities.

Resolution

Tomcat v9.0.87 has been attached to this article.  It can be applied following the below steps:

1. Stop the NIM server from services.msc
2. Take a backup of the existing CA\SOI\nimServer folder.
3. Copy all the folders and files under nimServer\ from the extracted zip file and replace to existing CA\SOI\nimServer\ folder.
4. Replace CA\SOI\nimServer\conf\server.xml from backed-up nimServer\conf\server.xml
5. Start NIM server from services.msc
