Issue/Introduction

Getting TRAC203C along with U0203 in GJTRMSTR when starting Jobtrac.   The following messages also occur in the Jobtrac log:

TRAC179I DB ERROR: CMD=ADDIT,TBL=PST,RET CD=94,INT RC=C1
TRAC172E GJTRDSTG DATABASE ERROR.  TERMINATING.

Environment

Jobtrac 11.0

Cause

Problem occurs when  DFDSS or FDR is used for backups.  Hot/dirty backup by definition means that the data and index files could be out of sync when they are reloaded, leading to the errors  like RET CD=94,INT RC=C1 (193 decimal).

Resolution

Perform the following corrective action after starting the MUF and before starting the application(s) using the MUF:

-- Run DBUTLTY to initialize the index and rebuild it using the control cards below:

RESET AREA=CXX,DBID=161
ACCESS   DBID=161,STATUS=OFF,USERS=FAIL
COMM      DBID=161,OPTION=CLOSE
INIT           DBID=161,AREA=IXX
RETIX       DBID=161,OPTIMIZE=YES,SORT=9999999,OPTION1='(I)'
COMM      DBID=161,OPTION=STATS
REPORT   DBID=161,AREA=CXX,TYPE=A
ACCESS   DBID=161,STATUS=WRITE

Another option is to use  DBUTLTY LOCK OPTION=HOTCOPY (available through Datacom PTF LU09908).  This is the recommended
approach.  Use LOCK OPTION=HOTCOPY at the database level and in place of LOCK OPTION=MOVER, which works at the area level.
For more information, see Creating Copies of Databases and Data Areas and LOCK (Lock a Database with OPTION=HOTCOPY).
