SCRT Reports incorrectly showing products not in use

Issue/Introduction

This article is intended for customers running SYSVIEW 16.0

SYSVIEW 16.0 can make license check calls for 2 other products which will cause those products to show up in an SCRT report when in fact those products did not run or may not even be installed. One clue is that those products in the SCRT report will have a version string identical to the SYSVIEW version string.

SYSVIEW 16.0 makes the license check calls based on its system configuration options.

• In SYSVIEW 16.0, if Component-IDMS is set to Yes, then SYSVIEW will make a license check call using LMP code “GY”. Depending on the version of the
  CAS9SCRT XML file, this code will be displayed as either “CA IDMS” or “IDMS Performance Monitor” in the report
  
  
• In SYSVIEW 16.0, if Component-DB2 is set to Yes, then SYSVIEW 16.0 will make a license check call using LMP code “IE”. Depending on the version of the
  CAS9SCRT XML file, this code will be displayed as either “CA Insight DPM for DB2” or “SYSVIEW Performance Management Option for Db2” in the report

 

Note: SYSVIEW 17.0 does not make license check calls for either of these products; that issue is corrected in SYSVIEW 17.0.

 

Environment

SYSVIEW 16.0

Cause

Setting the following System Configuration Options to a value of YES causes SYSVIEW to verify the indicated LMP codes with Common Components and Services (CCS):

If these options are requested mistakenly, the LMP check causes the IBM SCRT report to show the Related product is in use. The LMP code will be verified by the respective product when that product is used.

Resolution

1. Carefully review your SYSVIEW configuration options and select YES for only those options you are licensed to use
   
   
2. Install SYSVIEW 16.0 PTF LU11547. This changes the behavior to no longer issue LMP checks for IDMS or DB2
   
   
3. Obtain latest version of the CAS9SCRT XML file here. The file contains a statement identifying the version. For example:

    </legalstmt>
