ORA-17958 error creating connection in jdbc_response probe

Issue/Introduction

When creating a new connection using TLS to an Oracle database with the jdbc_response probe I am receiving an error:  ORA-17958:Unable to initialize the trust store.

The Oracle help URL for this error does not contain any helpful information.

What causes this error?

jdbc_response probe 1.26.1 connecting to Oracle with TLS

 

Cause

Problem with wallet file

Resolution

This error indicates that the Oracle Wallet file which is specified in the configuration cannot be loaded.

Either the wallet file is missing/the path is incorrect, the file is corrupted, the wrong type is specified, or the password is incorrect.
